I wonder is if the city of Seattle will let you even get a biz license for that place.

If you're serious about doing this, I graduated from UW with a degree in Business Administration. I've made go-to market strategies for a few local start ups. I'd be happy to donate any knowledge or assistance.
I also currently work in online advertising for a major publisher so I have some decent insight into digital advertising.

If anyone is serious about this, I would love to help with my skills. Painting Some carpentry Management Some metal work Basic labor Some security Tons of retail experience Some landscaping
I don't mind scouring the net for research so someone chime in if they want to invest in business in the Burien area or close by. I would really like to see this thing come to life in the Burien area. I believe that there are enough locals here to support the establishment.
What does it actually take to start a coffee shop? Lease a space Light renovation. ( could be as simple as a lick of paint and some wall art) Coffee machine (big expense) Tables and chairs WiFI cafe furniture permits and licensing
Can some one fill in the things that I severely missed? Lets see how this can be done!

As far as a normal business is concern the City can NOT make the business owner forbid open carry. As far as the pistol range is concerned, that will take a bit of tooth pulling but it is worth it. How many cafes have a pistol range? A rifle range would be a bit harder. I am optimistic that pistol range can be done. I am 100% positive that a cafe with open carry can be done. P.S. The city of Burien has not been annexed by the peoples republic of the city of Seattle. Burien is incorporated and has it's own Police and stuff.

On the topic of free stuff for LEO's, if I'm not mistaken, they cannot accept free stuff from commercial vendors, as it could be construed as a bribe. Can someone in LE speak on this? It's an ethics thing, "free stuff = preferential treatment".

It sounds like we have enough knowledge, skills, and resources on this forum to launch this. The only thing missing is an investor with the cash.

The guy wants to open a coffee shop, not buy/lease an old grocery store and run a gun range with crazy expensive insurance.

yup. Necro thread, but I was thinking about the idea last night. You could call the place Bombshell Bistro or something like that. The two LLs could be shaped to form the business end of a double barrel shotgun, but also doubled to form the sides of a corsett with the tips of the barrels doubling as boobs. The gals could wear daisy duke inspired outfits, maybe something similar to Shooters Grill out in CO: http://www.shootersgrillofrifle.com/. Something betweek that and Twin Peaks http://www.twinpeaksrestaurant.com/You can also have cool signs up like "Shotguns - more than just for weddings" or something like that. So what ever happened to the idea? Seems like it just fell off the radar.

If we're going to run a kitchen, I could cook (assuming it's in commuting distance).

I am free because I say I am. My freedom is not dependent on any government benefit or piece of legislation. My rights are inherent in the fact that I was born a sovereign being. They are non-negotiable. The government can list them and protect them, but my rights are not theirs to give away.

In an indoor range, the cost of an air filtration / lead free system can be astronomical. Good idea but $$$$$$$
