I recently won a bid for some metal wildlife art, there are two ducks and an elk from an online auction. After opening the package I about shit my pants at the amount of rust on all these items. I did not see any rust on the pics nor in the description prior to bidding.
I called the company 2 weeks ago, talked to an underling that said his boss would call me right back, NOT. I called him back after two weeks, been busy. I figured he would say sorry but there’s nothing I can do about it, I was right. POS!!!
I’m so done with online auctions, I guess I was just waiting for a sign and this was it.

The second duck actually looks kinda cool though. Lots of different options to either clean them up or distress them

Yeah, that was a really hard game to watch. The Zags were out of sorts from the tip-off. Props to Butler, though - they clearly were firing on all cylinders and deserved that win. They killed us on the offensive boards! And hardly any turnovers.

What were you planning on doing with them?

Our living room is filled with metal art work and wanted to ad more in other areas. The only place I would put these as distressed as they are is out in the shop but even there I would get a bad taste in my mouth every time I saw them.

I'm really sorry to see and hear that. I suggest contacting Scorpionrider and ask him about refinishing those. It's something he does professionally.

Maybe try a palm sander and some 220 grit? Looks like mainly surface rust, should cleanup pretty easily. Bead blasting would be another option..
