Today an expensive tool was marked as delivered by UPS... A pretty important job was waiting on it.

Called UPS "Yes, it was delivered. Well, according to the notes it was delivered to a different address. Sure, it was delivered to XXXX Umpty squat St. Yes, I see that this is not your address. I don't know why it was delivered to that address. "
That conversation went on for 15 minutes more or less. Turned out I know the family that lives at the address... Called them up.
"Hi Rhonda. Did you get a package that you didn't expect from UPS today?"
"Hi Mike! No, but Rick got his Santa beard that he's going to be wearing in the Christmas play in December."
Etc.... $12,000 job waiting on a part that is disappeared. It's not just a $12k job... There's a lot waiting on this job.
I'm kind of boiling inside.

Not as serious, but according to my tracking number I have a package that has been sitting at the Tumwater UPS since 11/14.

Phone rings at 0035..Dad? can you come over, a tree just fell on my house. Bring the big halogen light from out back by your shop, I've got chainsaws.
I get dressed and drive the 3/4 mile to his house. an 70 foot alder growing on the City park property 60 feet away has indeed come down on his house. What appears to be minor damage was done by the small branches. We cut the tree up, the neighbors are pissed because the saw is noisey. My son tells them "OK we won't cut it up and you can figure out how to get your fat asses out of this dead ended street in the morning. Neighbors help clean up and thank him.
