Got a call yesterday, earnest money check arrives today. $XX,XXX check.
I frankly had forgotten the terms of the deal. EM release on appraisal is the new style, not just lumped in at close. Money that is due, but early is better!

today was my last day of our four day weekend. we went to visit relatives in another city, we haven't seen them for a long time, so we chose a few days to visit everyone. last night we returned home and today I decided to just relax, take time for myself, surf the Internet, watch movies, and so on. so a quiet day is what made my day!

Encouraging news for gun owners: Texas Senate passes constitutional carry bill. There's some significant differences from the version passed by the state House. So either the House needs to pass the Senate version unmodified or there's a conference committee to hammer out the differences. Governor Abbott has already committed to sign the approved legislation if it reaches his desk. Constitutional carry has failed in past legislative sessions though it looks like Texas may finally join the ranks of other free states this year. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/texas-senate-passes-constitutional-carry-bill-but-more-theres-more-work-to-be-done/Also the Louisiana legislature has passed constitutional carry legislation in both houses with bipartisan, supermajority support. The bill will now head to Governor Edwards desk. He has promised to veto the legislation. Stay tuned if the LA legislature will then override his veto and pass the legislation into law anyways. https://www.nraila.org/articles/20210505/louisiana-constitutional-carry-bills-have-now-passed-both-legislative-chambersKansas lowers the age for concealed carry to 18 overriding the Governor's prior veto: https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/kansas-legislature-overrides-governors-veto-lowers-age-for-concealed-carry-to-18/

I answered a CL ad for 'chainsaws wanted' to get rid of the little Mac110 I picked up that is beyond my ability to rehab.... After a few emails back and forth, I called up 'James' to chat with him.... GREAT guy who works on saws with his kid - was excited to get an 'old school' saw for his kid to work on!!! He's down in Seattle - said he has a buddy up here in Kenmore that would pick it up for him... He warned me ---- 'Thork' is a crazy old guy - 84 yo Norwegian - in amazing shape - he's gonna tell you this story and that one - he's gonna have you 'punch him in the gut' he's gonna talk your ear off... Damn!!!! James was SPOT on about Thork!!! This old guy was in the best shape I've EVER seen for an 84 yo!!!! For a 40 yo for that matter too. He had just picked up a full truck load of rounds - by himself - before he showed up ---- I would have dreaded picking up rounds that big! Thork talked my ear off for almost an hour.... good dude! And yes, he did make me punch him in the stomach - after the first time he said 'you're not even trying - do it like you mean it' Turns out he sells firewood, so I'm gonna hook my neighbor up with him --- my neighbor is 66 and in great shape himself - it will be awesome for him to meet Thork!!! I'm certain he has quality wood at a good price.... even if he charges more, it would be worth it just to meet this character! I don't understand why people always shit on CL people.... I've met some of the nicest people buying and selling on there....

Speaking of old guys....
Had an interview this morning. 80 yr company owner who's been running this same biz for 47 years. First thing I noticed when walking into his office...gun safe right behind his elbow. I usually try to stay out of political conversation at work, especially during an interview. But it took less than 5 minutes for him to broach the subject. Total conservative sweep across the board. It was amazing! I start on Monday.
