That simply cannot be real. Way too retarded. I give the enemies of freedom more credit for intelligence than that.
gotta agree with this man. looks fake, sounds fake, smells fake. that's right I can E-smell it. too stupid to be true.
NO NO NO you got it all wrong.. stand back and really take a look at what happened in the last 8 yrs, I should say a little longer but this is when it really stuck out to me. We need to go back to our roots a bit deeper and pull out the core and give meaning to what we mean not this pigeon talk

I present this Kipling poem for context (copybooks contained sayings young students would copy to improve their lettering and cursive writing skills; gods of those copybooks were those who selected the sayings). If it's too long to read, just jump to the sections I've bolded.
Quote:
The Gods of the Copybook Headings
AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race, I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place. Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall, And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.
We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn: But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind, So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.
We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace, Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place, But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.
With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch, They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch; They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings; So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace. They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease. But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe, And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."
On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life (Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife) Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith, And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "The Wages of Sin is Death."
In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all, By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul; But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy, And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "If you don't work you die."
Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.
As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man There are only four things certain since Social Progress began. That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire, And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins, As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn, The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!
That simply cannot be real. Way too retarded. I give the enemies of freedom more credit for intelligence than that.

It helps to be skeptical of everything you see on the internet as well. I looked into this worksheet any way, and come to find out it dates back to 2007 - so it predates the Obama years. That of course doesn't disqualify a politicized agenda, as most teachers unions' and educational institutions' politics are well-known.

Wow.. Wow. I am still skeptical, but it looks like this was a REAL school worksheet.
From Mancat's link above :
Quote:
Is this bad? Certainly. It is inappropriate. Parents should be outraged. I would be if that were my child’s teacher. Is it part of the Common Core? No, even though this is a grammar worksheet which is a subject dealt with under the Common Core ELA standards doesn’t make it “part of Common Core.” Common Core are content standards. A worksheet is curriculum. Curriculum will, as I have written before, will be aligned to the Common Core standards and its assessments. That doesn’t mean, however, that everything in a worksheet or homework assignment is directly related to the Common Core.
Can we see this as a cautionary tale about how informational text can be abused? Yes. Is this an example of indoctrination in the classroom? Yes, but I would be quick to add that has been going on for YEARS. Are there examples of horrible Common Core aligned resources – certainly, but we have to be discerning.
Also it should be noted that this particular worksheet by Pearson Education was copywrited in 2007 so it predates the Common Core.
I am just stunned that this would be any sane person's contribution to a school curriculum. I can't even imagine a hardcore anti-liberty person being so transparent in their goal of undermining individual liberty and free thinking. It's straight from an alien invasion... Unbelievable.

Most Politicians: - Are elected based upon the impressions they create with voters. - Work pretty much unsupervised once elected. - Are exempt for the most part from slander, libel, and perjury laws (except when giving sworn testimony). - Conspire with others to further a political agenda that is sometimes hidden from the public.
whereas most Teachers: - Are hired based upon the impressions they create with current teachers and administrators (former teachers). - Work pretty much unsupervised once hired. - Are exempt for the most part from slander, libel, and perjury laws (in the name of academic freedom). - Support others through union dues to further a political agenda that is sometimes hidden from the public.
RHETORICAL QUESTION: To the extent that the above is true, which group deserves constant vigilance from citizens who pay their salaries?
It really doesn't matter if the example is from Common Core or not. It serves as a template of what to look for when you get a chance to see what passes for education these days. If you find an example of propaganda, make a copy and share it with as many people as you can. The first step is awareness.
