Idiotslee is trying to sell carbon credits...
If your electricity comes from PSE your rates will increase (which will also get the state more tax revenue )
Coal accounts for 36% of PSE’s electricity fuel mix. PSE's partial ownership of Eastern Montana's Colstrip Generating Station represents the single largest power-generating facility PSE owns, approximately 700 MW of generating capacity.
The Grand Coulee Dam on Washington's Columbia River is the largest hydroelectric power producer in the United States, with a total generating capacity of 6,809 megawatts. WE ONLY GET A FRACTION OF THIS BECAUSE THE FEDS OWN IT
In 2013, Washington was the leading producer of electricity from hydroelectric sources and produced 29% of the nation's net hydroelectricity generation. BUT WE EXPORT to other states
Washington ranked 10th in the nation in net generation of electricity from wind energy in 2013.
In 2013, Washington had the lowest residential electricity prices in the nation and the lowest combined electricity price across all sectors, THIS WILL QUICKLY CHANGE................ :frust:

i still find it laughable inslee thinks solar power is viable in this state. the man is a fucking idiot.

It is viable in Texas, but they are to dumb to utilize it. You will soon see, Texas has its own fair share of problems. The grass is not always greener on the other side. It only seems to be.

I'm all for more green power... I'm just for doing it wisely.
I love bio-diesel. I hate how we do it stupidly here. All the actual farms that grow the source are soybeans. Why is that stupid you might ask? Well because rapeseed (the source of canola oil) has at least three times the yield of soy. More bio-diesel from the same amount of land, so it would also be cheaper.
Even trying the ethanol thing we use corn. One of the least efficient forms of getting alcohol is from grains (yes, corn is too a grain).
And ethanol has other HUGE problems. Like even E15 will damage many cars on the road today because they aren't made to take more than 10% and for some that was a stretch.
At least with bio-diesel the engines don't have to be changed at all (especially when you look at the first diesel engines... they were based on plant diesel). We still need to mix it with winter blend petro-diesel when it's cold though as there hasn't been enough in use for any company to bother making a winterizer for it.
And of course there are only a couple smaller cars that are diesel. VW/Audi come to mind. Though Nissan might, and I hope they do, come out with a diesel Frontier eventually. They had one displayed at a show recently. Better fuel economy, and much greater towing from a smaller truck.

Solar and wind would work in Eastern WA, but even there it's still not quite consistent enough. Our solar panels aren't efficient enough to make enough power on cloudy days. There isn't the profit motive to put the money and effort into developing better cells at the moment so progress is slow.
I'd still like to reroof my house with solar panels, just because.

There are some pretty big wind farms out there.
