SEATTLE - Five businesses and five cars were hit by flying bullets along a South Seattle street in an overnight drive-by shooting, police said.

Officers responded to the scene, the 9400 block of Rainier Avenue South, at about 11 p.m. Thursday after receiving 911 calls about multiple shots fired, said Renee Witt of the Seattle police.

More than 50 bullet casings were found in the street at the scene. The casings, from a high-powered rifle and a handgun, littered the street from the 9300 block to the 9500 block.

SEATTLE — He’s an innocent man who was shot in the back and left for dead.

Now he’s helping police catch his attacker before he strikes again.

“I came here to get away from all this and I walked right up on it,” shooting victim Dean Hill said.

It was April 25 at 1 a.m..

Dean Hill and his fiancée, Cathy Johnson, were walking home from a neighborhood bar in Seattle’s Central District.

As they walked through the alley, they were approached by a gunman and two other men.

“There were three gentleman that popped out and asked what time it was and I said it’s about 12:30 or 1, and he said, ‘No, it’s play time’ and he pulled a gun. He had the gun to my head at first,” Johnson said.

SEATTLE — Multiple gunshots were fired right next to a crowded south Seattle park Wednesday night.

Dozens of people, including children, ran for cover at Othello Park.

No one was hit by the bullets but one woman at the playground was injured in the face and arm after fragments from a fence hit her during the shooting.

Witnesses say they saw two men shooting at each other at the corner of South Othello and 45th Ave South.

Both men got away but a gun was recovered by police at the scene. Detectives also collected shell casings and talked to multiple witnesses.

A man was shot at a Renton service station this morning and police are looking for the gunman.

Officers were called to the gas station in the 300 block of Rainier Avenue South just before 4 a.m. on a report of gunfire. When they arrived, they found the shooting victim, 29, on the ground. The man is believed to have been inside a black BMW parked at the gas station when he was shot and wounded in the chest and leg, according Renton police spokeswoman Terri Vickers.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center. His condition wasn’t immediately available.

Police are searching for a gunman, but “we don’t have much for a suspect description,” Vickers said.

its a little ridiculous, makes me second guess working at harborview night shift. i'll get off work at 2-3am and they have a no guns on campus policy.

All they have to do is check the micro-stamps on the primers, and it will lead back to the registered owner who has completed a lengthy background check.
