So while reading the article there was a statement that even though the kid is 18 she can be charged for having sex with a minor because he is a student???? WTF??? When is an adult NOT an adult??? I call Bullshit!

I don't have any problem with school rules that dictate this librarian lose her job because she had sex with a student. Many employers have nepotism and similar policies, so it's not really out of line with the private sector. Charging her with a crime, however, is ridiculous. He can vote, he's required to sign up for Selective Service. It's OK for you to die for your country but you can't fuck the school librarian? Riiiiiggghht.... He's an adult, no 2 ways about it.

I feel bad for this guy. 18 and in High School so he can't hook up with his classmates or he goes to jail, can't hook up with the adults there or they get punished. :SMH:

Falls under the state law prohibiting sexual contact of any kind between any school district employee and any student actively enrolled in the district. The district is acting in loco parentis as long as the child is an enrolled student. The unfortunate part of all of this is, had she just waited until he was no longer an enrolled student, there would have been no harm, no foul, but now at the very least she is going to have her teaching certificate pulled.
