What's the most cost effective way to go. Rail, sand Jeep, used quads. Anybody got something to trade?

Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk Easy to store, uses less dino piss, cheaper up front cost, etc. (easy to resell when you're done)

I got a VW Baja that is a little pissed off. But quads are a good easy way to go.

Keep in mind that you have to drive three hours to ride them in sand. I think moses lake is the closest. We opted for trail quads or utility quads, since there are more places to ride them on this side of the mountain, plus you can hunt off them and use them around the property to drag trailers and stuff.

A sand rail with a turbo worked over bug engine would be the most economical sand rail to get. The most fun would be a 4 seated with an ls1 or other ls number. I've gone down to Florence and winchester bay so many times. To get a taste of a sand rail go down to Florence and rent a rail for an hour or 2, a guy drives it for you it's a lot of fun. It's like being on a roller coaster. Give the guy a 20 after you are out there a bit and tell him to open it up. Those rails are Subaru powered with 180-200 hp. I've been in one that was dyno'd at right around 475hp. It was a rocket, we were going 30 or so and the dude hammered the gas and the front came up and we rode it on 2 wheels for a couple hundred feet. He also jumped the hell out of it. They are so fun.

Advantages of a dune buggy over a quad: - Either can be towed, but quads have to be trailered while buggies can be flat towed. - A dune buggy is driveable locally since it's road licensed. - The whole family can be in one vehicle (until you trust the little ones to go off on their own). I could make you a deal on this one: with these tires/wheels (plus another pair just like them):

Sport quad is probably the best, most universal choice This man thou shalt know. Ask him and he shall anoint ye with knowledge of dune-age. I went stock sport quad with paddles---mod sport quad with paddles---dedicated 3/4 stoopid dune quad---full retard dune quad---full retard dune Jeep---mod sport quad with paddles. My scoot of choice is the Banshee. The newer stuff is great too but that bike is an icon in the sand for good reason.
