So, this Saturday we are ditching the kids and heading up to see James Taylor at the Key Arena. We decided to make a night of it and got a hotel off of Lake Union (east side of the lake).

We want to have a nice, early dinner since the concert begins at 8pm. Suggestions? We were up there a few weeks ago and hit the Melting Pot, that was nice and may go there again. Food tastes? Steak, seafood, fun food. Nothing super spicy or curry.

Some where in the area of a decent taxi ride would be nice. I figure most of the places near the key are going to be packed.

Lemme have it!

JT is one of my faves. He puts on a GREAT show, and normally has a phenomenal band.

Have fun.

If you're looking for something fancy and expensive you can go to Daniel's. OR if you want to have an food-gasm go here.

I worked at MSFT in SLU and would eat there multiple times a day.

That may be a good spot to hit for lunch on our way out or on our way in!

Cafe Loc, little Viet place right across from the Wreck of the Partridge Family Bus. Inexpensive, great service, amazing food.

The Waterfront, Canlis or the Met if you're feeling particularly spendy. Daniels is great and reasonable price point, there are also some nice little spots down in pioneer square that are much less well known.

Just booked a reservation at Daniels... #1 because of the name, and #2 we can walk there from the hotel, then cab or train it to the arena.

I'll be asking a similar question here in a few more weeks for Woodinville... She bought me James Taylor, which is this weekend, so I bought her John Legend at the Winery next month.

Show up early, eat at Redhook and take the $1 brewery tour. That's about the best fun you can have in Woodinville and it's right across the street from Ste. Michelle.

Or if you want to skip the midday drinking try the Woodinville Cafe. Great American cuisine at very fair prices! Aside from the Maltby and Brown bag cafe they are about my favorite North end breakfast destination.
