My stepfather passed Thursday night from a SIGW. Is there anyone close to Graham that can help me get his dress blues properly set up with his ribbons and awards so that he can have them on for the funeral? I have been out too long to remember the details. Any help is greatly appreciated as there is so much for us to try and take of. It has been a long couple of days for me with no break in the next few days. So much paperwork to sort through. I think I will be making pre arrangements for my funeral to help spare my wife the angst. I will post more details about him later. Meanwhile rest in peace Top! 1sgt Ray W. Hall was a great soldier, loving husband a, father and grandfather. He will be missed!

Condolences on your loss. I know that the VFW will send an actual volunteer out to assist with the dressing of the deceased, as the local chapter did this when a girlfriend's husband passed from a SIGW March of last year. She was too distraught to handle funeral arrangements, so I learned a lot about available survivor resources in a very short period of time.

If he passed in King County, please know that the County itself will issue a USD$500 cheque to the surviving spouse, providing the deceased had an honourable discharge, which I am presuming he did. Rita Sanchez in the Seattle office was the caseworker with whom I worked. http://www.kingcounty.gov/socialservice ... actUs.aspx

If they (VFW) can't help contact the CAO. They have people on call 24/7 to help.

I can email the current uniform pamphlet (670-1 had been spot into two document, actual wear is a DA PAM now). That would give you the technical information you need.
Or you can find the link to download it on the Marlow White website.
