If nothing gets in the way of this government decree, it will take a couple years to fully enact but I can guarantee I'll have to cut hours and/or cut positions. Great fucking job, Seattle. You just cost my people hours or their jobs and made it so I have to work that much harder for nothing more.

I saw here interview on Q13... Her answer to the question about franchises filing lawsuits was to vilify them, that it would show the truth about them. Followed that by the franchise model needs to be moved away from... freaking social engineering... |

Yep I also saw that interview. Not only did she basically not answer the question, but her answer revealed that she's completely incapable of recognizing the small business owner aspect of the franchise system. Her reasoning is that simply by being affiliated with a major corporation, the business owner is evil and deserves everything they get.
Her claim that one cannot start a franchise without basically being rich - is there any truth to that at all? Is she suggesting that someone with restaurant experience and the ability to secure a loan cannot start a Subway? What is she upset about any way? She's married to a loaded Microsoft engineer. What does she have to say about Microsoft? She is oozing with arrogance, and I predict she's going to become trouble for Seattle on a LOT of issues, not just the minimum wage. A few months back, she was basically told to shut up at a council meeting when she started rambling about all sorts of unrelated issues during a brief topic of mass transit.
