They may not be the best looking gun, but they work. I actually think the latest version of the carbine looks halfway decent. Lifetime warranty NO matter what you do to it. I have had one in the past. Biggest piece of shit ever. Wasn't even worth selling second hand so I sold it to the city at the gun buy back. Total garbage and I'm glad it got destroyed.

Why are people hating on Hi Points???? I've owned a Hi Point carbine and JCP handgun both in .40. I only got them because they were cheap and I wanted to try them out. They both functioned great every time I used them and I put at least 2000 rounds through each. I did later on trade my carbine for a trailer and sold the JCP to my brother. I've never experienced these failures/unreliability that most people have with Hi Points.

I bought a hi-point .45 off another member, and when I took it home to load up a mag to go shooting the spring in the mag failed.
I would never trust my life with one of these.

I would never trust my life with one of these. I really don't care what people keep but I have seen so many fail . for a little more money you can get a Taurus and a little more a XD , M&P or a glock or Ruger . I would rather have two good guns than 10 crappy ones . Hell I have seen Glock 17 on here for 400 how much more is that than a Hi-point . I don't know about you but my life is worth a couple hundred extra dollars

Hi Points can be had for $150. You might as well burn that money or wipe yourself with it.

I guess this thread proves all discussions lead back to hi-points. A guy buries his guns, tells us about it and hi-points get all the glory. This has got to be the official Waguns "jump the shark" moment . The Fonz would be proud. I never buried guns but have owned a hi-point carbine. I wish I had it back, loved that gun.

Lets review what we have covered so far. Someone irresponsibly buried guns in a place alongside the highway where anyone with a shovel can get them. Somewhat similar to leaving them on the back seat of your car. High Points are cheap guns that some people like, but most do not becuz they are cheap guns. This could go on forever.

Seems like most of y'all are assuming that he just pulled over to the side of the highway and stuck them a few inches under the topsoil. Now, I don't know Munchie, but I'd like to think that he's a little more intelligent than that.
I've heard people on this forum advise about making equipment caches for SHTF, so it strikes me as odd that when someone states that they did it, they are derided.

Just make sure you don't take a photo of the location with a smart phone, then post it to somewhere that retains the EXIF data. It will usually have the GPS coords embedded in the data..

I'm glad you buried that hi point. After this discussion they're dead to me anyway....
