Somewhat similar to leaving them on the back seat of your car. High Points are cheap guns that some people like, but most do not becuz they are cheap guns. This could go on forever. Just curious.......... what you gonna do after the storm troopers come to your house and take all your guns? Wouldn't you be glad THEN, that you had one buried somewhere?

I would not put it past the possible of "hidden" stuff being found, no matter where it is. I have come across a stash in the mountains while hunting, that was "in the middle of nowhere". There was no firearm in THIS stash, but everything else a prepper would have. A mid size galvanized garbage can buried only about 1 ft down. I noticed that rocks were placed in a mildly un-natural manner, and vegetation was in an un-natural shape. There was a really thick plastic sheet over the can, and it diverted water away, so the vegetation was enjoying that. checked it out. These things do have possibility of being found. I was just wanting to make that particular tree into a tree stand cause it stood out as a particularly good spot, and I was going to dig a little hole anyway for a cat hole before I left the area. it was also interesting that the stuff in the can was in fine shape, and dry. It looked about 20 years old or so.... thinking Bill Clinton election maybe? some of the aluminum pots and pans looked a little oxidized, but that's it. I left it all, put it back the way it was. I will only say that a person who chooses to bury stuff does so with risk / benefit.... but that those risks or benefits may not be so minor, and even if unlikely, it must be taken into consideration that this stuff may be found, by anyone. I find the original post concerning, as I think that caches are specifically not for public disclosure and such disclosure is not beneficial to our community as a whole, or the OP. All firearms should be secured from access to unknown persons.
