We had Comcast digital supreme or whatever it was called, for one year in 2009. There was never anything on, at all. Something like 150+ channels, and all of it was reality TV, horrible cable news, infomercials, and non-stop commercials on every channel.
The only things I used to watch on TV back in the late 90s was History channel, TLC, and Discovery. All of those channels are now dead, completely dominated by scripted reality shows.
Everything for us is on Netflix, or torrents of complete seasons of shows and movies. No, I don't give a shit that it's stealing. I've paid my dues to the advertisers over the years.
For local channels, we just mounted a digital antenna really high in the garage, but we live in a bit of a dip and can only pick up Q13. Oh well.
The TV is rarely on in the house during the day.
