Fun fact, on most elevators in buildings with MORE than 4 floors; If you push and hold your destination floor and the door close button until the door fully closes, it will bypass all other floors and go straight to your destination. Pretty handy when you are in a highrise and want to get to the lobby quickly.

So I sent my representative a message through his legislative web page. I will see if he replys. I did note that 5 days earlier some Jehovah's witnesses stopped by. However I think I would have noticed the damage earlier if it had been caused by them.

So my representative replied to my email and admitted that he had pushed on the motion detector, thinking it was a doorbell and it broke. He apologized and has offered to pay for the motion detector. Still wouldn't vote for him but at least he fessed up and has offered to make things right. A fitting end to a thread called Would you vote for a politician who .....

If he is anti - no. Pro, yes for accepting responsibility. If he is anti, give him a quote for the most expensive unit you can find. "Oh, you broke the gold plated limited edition model".
