Oh yeah! Love the 45-70! Two of my favorite guns are a Marlin 1895DSG Limited and a SSK built Thompson Center Contender pistol. Took a huge Blacktail several years back with one of my 300 grain reloads in the Contender. He was lights out before he hit the ground. I'm in the process of figuring out a suitable optic for the rifle. Someday hope to snag a monster Elk with it.
