For the price I'd rather get a Maserati.

The maintenance on them is 3x the porsche though

Thousand dollars for an oil change makes 300 for porsche look cheap

Yeah, the turbo is in a class of itself... 100k for a used 2 year old one with porsche certified... made me consider it but I got the baby to figure out first...

Maserati is FIAT - Fix It Again, Tony.

The Porsche Panamera is too much dough for the go. They are a bulky car, and only the Turbo has the horses to make the car an interesting driver. Then, maintenance costs go up merely to do anything with all the extra induction hardware shoe horned into the engine bay. Turbos, waste gates, intercoolers, pop off valves, and all of the plumbing to tie it all to the motor means excavation is required to do anything.

The Cayenne GTS is a better bet - been out since 2008, and nice clean pre owned versions are out there in the fifties. You get Turbo wheels, brakes, suspension, interior, and body parts along with a normally aspirated motor putting out 405 hp stock. It is easy to do a few aftermarket tweaks to bump that up to 470 hp, 30 short of the Turbo, no added weight for all of the other crap glued to the motor. So, arguably similar performance is easy to achieve.

They drive way more like sports cars than trucks, look a fuck of a lot better, seat up to 5, not 4, are cheaper to service and maintain, cost less up front, and have way better visibility all round. Plus, they have a 7500 lb towing capacity, just in case. Ground clearance will never be a problem either.

Porsche flavor, everything the Panamera offers, more pre owned available in the marketplace, and cheaper to buy, own, and maintain - what's not to like ?

How much are you really looking to spend? Are you looking for just sports car? Just luxury? Both?

M5s are sexy... 996 Turbos are affordable and delicious...

Don't really have a budget, but it won't be more than 70k and likely certified used and this is in a few years unless a deal to good to pass comes along

M5s are mighty sexy.

I have a thing for 90's styled cars so the 993 Turbo gives me a hard on that lasts for hours.

This is also why I just bought myself an E38. I will eventually add a W140 and E36 M3 to my collection as well.... 90's luxury/sports cars are too damn sexy.

Actually.... my favorite car from any manufacturer is from the 90s... SSSSOOOOO I'm biased....

Well, for serious speed with reliability in a certified used car under the $70k mark this is the one:

The M5 is one fine machine... I saw a nice one in Vegas and it looked fast in the parking lot...

They depreciate fast though so a used one is in the 60k range 2 years old certified...

Tesla Model S?

Not depreciating (in fact some sell used for more than new cost) and got the performance, 4 doors, price point, etc. I like em.

They look awesome. 250+miles per charge is tempting and they're investing big in the super charge stations everywhere. i'd love to have one some day. ;-)
