Yeah unfortunately I'm leaving last minute heading out to Alaska to help get a gold boat finished up and ready for the season. I'm planning on being back for the 4th I'd July though as I've had enough years I of 24 hour daylight and the limited fireworks that go along with that. So as I was checking my firearm the guy gets all weird with me, and that was after being cool and talkative. So at the baggage check they give you a slip to sign for unloaded firearm and then send you to a separate area where a guy swipes the bag for explosives. The guy who was checking for explosives started acting weird when he didn't have both copies of my signed form saying something about a $5000 fine if he didn't have both forms to be able to put one in my suitcase. Then he went and told me to open my pistol case... I said excuse me, I am aware that is not a requirement, why do you want me to open my case. He acted like he thought that the firearm unloaded slip was somehow in my hard case and started going off on that fine bullshit again. That's when I pulled it out of my pocket because the first baggage attendant stapled it to my boarding pass like normal and he calmed down a little but he started being a bit weird on me not wanting to open the case and was saying how he probably had a bigger pistol, lol. Then he asked what I had and I told him it was my Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in 44 magnum. He did bow down and say mine was bigger but damn now I'm worried that I should have said it was just a hi-point or something cheap. Hope it gets to my Nome just fine...

It wasn't the revolver that was the problem. It was the gun hat and the terrorist beard!
So...?

Just woke up in the anchorage airport and we are boarding for Nome now. We'll see how everything looks when I get there. Man it's a horrible feeling to be someone that sleeps through alarms and to wake up to your alarm blaring wondering if you missed your flight.
