What the fuck is going on in this world why is this shit happening?
I suspect that part of the issue is that these stories are getting "popular" and are good fodder for the anti-gun crowd, so I bet that there's a lot more reporting than there used to be.
I think that *any* gun-related school incident, no matter how minor, would be national news . . . this month, at least.
This. I hate to say it but any shooting that involves those that are not black or Hispanic is being made national news. Real news of reporting corruption and wrong doings is gone. All they report is the easy things such as these shootings or election results.

Apparently the Troutdale School District still uses the "shelter in place" or lockdown method of dealing with an active shooter. Kind of disappointing. Bellevue School District #405 has now switched to the "Run, Hide, Fight" method of dealing with active shooters. Run, if you can--out a window, if you have to, broken bones and lacerations < GSW. Hide, if you can't run. Fight, if you are found. Even the little ones are taught this now.

I might get flamed for this, but I gotta say, I'm getting seriously tired of hearing about kids getting shot. I'm even thinking of voting for additional gun laws if it keeps kids from getting shot. Regardless of how it affects us, kids getting shot makes me pretty pissed. Why aren't there freaking armed guards at schools and why aren't there controlled access points into schools? I never experienced a shooting at my school because there were three ways in and three ways out, cops at the access points and metal detectors. Other than the fact that I went to school in the ghetto, it was pretty damn safe. I'm just sad with the increase in school shootings lately.

When its time to go in: That place of steel and stone. I pray that you will keep me safe, so I will not walk alone. Help me to do my duty, please watch me on my rounds. Amongst those perilous places and slamming steel door sounds. God, keep my fellow Officers well and free from harm. Let them know I'll be there too, whenever there's alarm. Above all when I walk my beat, no matter where I roam. Let me go back whence I came, to family and home Author unknown.

And I'm saddened by the people who think one more gun law will save a life.... You know what will save a life? People taking the initiative to teach others the value of a human life instead of blaming the gun for the problem... The gun is the victim here... It did it job... It fired a bullet, at what or whom is the responsibility of he who pulled the trigger.

I'm sick of it too. My vote is for armed Resource Officers at the schools and controlled entry points. That is the only way o prevent this from happening in my opinion. Not more laws for criminals to ignore.
