I think you meant "high-capacity clips."

I'm sick of it too. My vote is for armed Resource Officers at the schools and controlled entry points. That is the only way o prevent this from happening in my opinion. Not more laws for criminals to ignore.

I'm all about controlled entry points and School Resource Officers (SRO's--uniformed, sworn LE assigned to the school) but at least in Bellevue, the financial resources aren't there, except at the high school level. And a little anecdote...when I was still married, and my husband was a principal at a HS, he had a parent walk into the school, walk right past the SRO's office, walk into his office, take out a pistol (no idea what it was, other than a revolver of some sort), lay it on his desk, and ask my now ex-husband why, exactly, he (the irate parent) shouldn't shoot him.

My ex sat there for a moment (okay, he's a lot more mild-mannered than I am), stood up and said, "Felony charges?". Guy started laughing, holstered his pistol and just then the SRO came in. The man was arrested without incident (I can't remember the exact charge, but I believe it was along the lines of brandishing a weapon).

In the mass shootings, it's always the principal and the SRO who are taken out first, or at least it seems that way to me.

The school in Portland had TWO SRO's who were on duty right there. My reaction is, how are they funding that?

I've asked both of our local schools, and they don't have the funding.

I totally agree on controlled entry.

Additional laws won't help, you guys are correct about that, but we are intelligent human beings (for the most part :D), can't we come up with a serious solution to keep our youth safe?
You don't hear about this crap in Israel where they have tons of firearms everywhere!
USRIFLE is correct in his rant about parents not giving a flying f about their kids, how do we force them to care? We can't, therein lies the biggest issue, family values have eroded so damn much, people don't give a crap anymore or they're scared to speak out because they'll be labeled as ignorant or arrested for those opinions.
GD, everyone is so busy passing the buck that they've forgotten how to take f-ing responsibility for their own actions. Of course these kids have amazing role models to strive for, right? Lindsay Lohan is a great example as are Kim Kardashian, Kanye, Bieber, and the rest of those repugnant fcks.
I'm way off track, sorry, I'll stop now.

Home school. Do not give your kids any pharmaceutical drugs, and filter your water. Hang out with like-minded people, and KILL YOUR TELEVISION..
