Any help would be great.

we have some framed stuff from the civil war , took it to antique roadshow, it was only valued at 500.00 and that was with the lead free frame.

Okay, so I can only tell you what I know about valuing books (I collect 18th and 19th century first edition, first run books). Things that bring down value: commonality, creases, water damage, and poorly repaired paper. The two framed items are, unfortunately, most likely worth very little, because they appear a) to have been printed on newspaper stock, not rag or vellum and b) show extensive fading, creasing and evidence of prior damage and repair. The other documents, taken as a whole, may have some value if your relative (or whomever) had any kind of prominence in any kind of prominent battle. I don't see any signatures that I recognise, but I'm not terribly familiar with the American Civil War. Recognisable signatures by a prominent figure would increase the value somewhat. On the downside, all pieces show signs of creasing and other damage.

If you want to have them appraised in order to learn what the lot might bring at auction, I can give you the name and tel of the guy in Tennessee who handles rare books and papers, and sold two books for me, two volumes of a three volume set printed in 1791. Auctions kind of suck, though, since you have to pay an upfront fee to have them listed, and then another fee, a percentage of the sale price, if the lot actually sells.

Forgot to add, foxing (those brown stains on some of the loose documents) will also bring down the value. Sorry.

If you take something like this into Pawn Stars, you are an idiot and only deserve 5 bucks. Why do you hate capitalism so much?
