Hey, did anyone read my post?????

The bug is out....NO?????

How'd you feel if you were a passenger on the Cleveland to Dallas flight a few days ago. Or the passenger that took her seat after she deplaned? You think they sprayed Clorox and de-fraged the inside of that plane??? Highly doubtful.

These dipshits are gonna have to get their asses in gear...this bad bug is spreading.

Like 'F' the flights from Africa.....how they going to contain this this little bastard in the CONUS.

We need to require registration and training before we let people use one of those death machines. That way we can save children.

I'm not worried. On the proper dietary regimen, I can produce a highly toxic gas that kills damm near everything on contact.

At least, that is what the wife says.

So, smelly, but safe.

The weeks ahead will tell us just how much exposure there may have been. Hopefully everyone in that waiting room on Sept28th and since is being tested for infection.

IIRC it can only be transmitted when you are exhibiting symptoms. It sounds like both of these health care workers were caught relatively early (fever).

I have a suggestion to the CDC: require that any hospital employee involved in the treatment of Ebola patients not travel by air for 14 days after treating said patient.

Um, did you read my most recent post? I said that it now appears that Texas Presbyterian had a very sloppy isolation protocol in place to begin with, and it also appears that they failed to provide attending staff with appropriate PPE gear for treating ANY patient in isolation. How they've gotten away with this for presumably years, I don't know, but again, hospitals aren't required to report nosocomial infections. So no, the "process, procedure, and protocol" at Texas Presbyterian was/is not "just fine".

So whether Ms. Phan and now this second nurse accidentally breached PPE removal protocol, or they weren't provided with appropriate PPE equipment to treat a patient in isolation in the first place, doesn't really matter to me in light of the failure to provide appropriate PPE gear. Texas Presbyterian fucked up, and probably has been fucking up for years--generally, a patient is put in isolation to prevent disease transmission to other patients, the protection of attending staff just a side benefit of preventing the aforementioned transmission of disease.

I am sure that the initial assumption by the CDC--and initial reassurances by Texas Presbyterian administrators looking to cover their asses--was that Texas Presbyterian did in fact have a standard isolation protocol in place, and that staff were being provided with sufficient PPE gear to follow the protocol. Somebody(ies) at Texas Presbyterian lied, and lied big time. Still, Ebola is not a super virus, CDC teams are on the ground in Dallas now, and I am still confident that this will be well-contained.

Thank you for making my point. The CDC assumed she made a mistake removing the PPE. Rather than considering she didn't have the right PPE or training in the first place. Now it is clear there is some kind of systemic problem there. That needs to be corrected. Assuming that she just made a mistake was not a good assumption. Occam's razor etc.

And the blame of the health care workers by the CDC continues:

"Even though the nurse did not report having a fever until Tuesday, the day after she returned home, she should not have boarded a commercial airliner after learning that another nurse, Nina Pham, had been diagnosed with Ebola, government officials said Wednesday."

http://www.komonews.com/news/national/E ... 75332.html

Now the CDC is actually doing something: (several days late, dollar short)
CDC Director Tom Frieden said no one else involved in Duncan's care will be allowed to travel "other than in a controlled environment."

Well, that *would* show a little sense of responsibility....you know, that little thing that has vanished in this society of individualist selfish entitlement.

The CDC deals with stuff like Ebola daily....to them, common sense is actually common. Apologies on their behalf if they seem a little short with retards.

The CDC said they were "very surprised" when the first nurse was infected. Why would they expect other workers not to travel when they said there was little risk of anyone else being infected?

The CDC has demonstrated incompetence every step of the way so far. Just look at some of the things they have said.
