prevention is a straw man argument as we shouldn't be paying for their treatment as a result of the habit either.
If individuals wanna donate...let them...

And when the hospital doesn't have adequate privately donated resources to continue providing modern emergency care...?

Sure, that's really smart....
For those looking for clues about how the U.S. government can tackle its domestic drug problem, the figures are enticing. Following decriminalization, Portugal eventually found itself with the lowest rates of marijuana usage in people over 15 in the EU: about 10%. Compare this to the 40% of people over 12 who regularly smoke pot in the U.S., a country with some of the most punitive drugs laws in the developed world. Drug use of all kinds has declined in Portugal: Lifetime use among seventh to ninth graders fell from 14.01% to 10.6%. Lifetime heroin use among 16-18 year olds fell from 2.5% to 1.8%. And what about those horrific HIV infection rates that prompted the move in the first place? HIV infection rates among drug users fell by an incredible 17%, while drug related deaths were reduced by more than half. "There is no doubt that the phenomenon of addiction is in decline in Portugal," said Joao Goulao, President of the Institute of Drugs and Drugs Addiction, at a press conference to mark the 10th anniversary of the law.

Wheel him back outside and dump him on the sidewalk?
Or..bleeding from gunshot wounds from a deal gone bad?

I said it before, and I'll say it again, unless you pay $13k in taxes for a family of 4, SHUT THE F*CK UP about taxes. You are not even covering the military expenses which you yourself voted in when you supported Republicans. You are certainly NOT paying for the social programs. Leave complaining about those to people who are actually covering them.

I voted republican?.. shit.... didn't know that..
If only that family of 4 had some sort of tax credit..where..I dunno.... they could pay ZERO taxes and STILL get money back from the IRS....

Who cares how you voted or how much taxes you pay. Last I heard you don't live in King County and aren't paying for this program. So as said before, Shut the Fuck Up! Oh, and pull your head out of your ass so you can see the big picture.
