Only warning in this thread... Violation of the CoC will not result in a warning shot across the bow.

WOW. I avoided this thread because I really didn't care but after seeing the video via multiple sources... It does not look good for the cops. I can say I have NONE of the facts or situation leading up to the point that they killed him but the video is pretty damning. If the cops are not found guilty I would be surprised.

It's a pretty fine line between having police afraid to defend themselves for fear of prosecution, and having no fear to run right to deadly force in any scenario because the worst case scenario is probably paid leave.
I see a lot of "well that was wrong" comments, what's the solution?

Reports say the first taser didn't hit torso, and he pulled out at least one of the barbs, making the taser useless. Deployment of a second taser would have been an option if they had one. There was no indication if pepper spray was used at all, which given the chase, would have been my go to choice. ("Fucker! Throw a rock at me then run away unarmed... Eat Pepper gel punk!) Another option would have been swarming tactics. All the officers moved to one side ... probably so down range would be "clear" but this left a huge area for the subject to flee. Had they come at him from 3 sides, his retreat would have been limited. A LTL 12ga on a subject running away would be an option. (Hmm where's that "Alternative" when you need it?) ((the clown nose thing for a glock)) So there are some solutions. I would also point out....People seem to miss the 5 shots that were fired AS the guy ran crossing the street. They didn't shoot at the guy in one volley, but two. Presumption is that the first volley missed.......In a downtown area with lots of stopped traffic around.

I think it was the press conference where the Chief revealed two officers were struck by large rocks. Which makes me wonder; just how many rocks was the guy carrying? It might be time to regulate large capacity pockets.

594 should have had a rock registration requirement.
That would have prevented this from happening.
Rocks don't kill people, people kill people.
