How about a Ford Flex? Personally, I don't care for the box body style, but I've heard good things about them and they handle people & cargo pretty well.

I drove a Nissan Rogue for a few days, and that thing is a sacless pile. Didn't like the features, and didn't have any power despite it being the higher end model. The Nissan Pathfinder was nice, but it lacked interior colors, and was expensive compared to others in the same class, Highlander, Santa Fe, and Durango. The Pathfinder had less features up front compared to the others and got expensive quick. Plus the Durango just looks bad ass. Drives super nicely, has an eco boost option you can click on and off when needed. We also get a ton of compliments and questions. The wife and I even had one couple ask about it, as they walked away the wife punched her husband in the arm and said they should have gotten one instead of an Explorer.

if you can find a good specimen, find a used 2012+ ML350 bluetec... lots of power/torque and 28mpg highway 20/22 local... that's assuming you don't mind diesel... plus it can tow 7000lbs max (empty)

To the OP.......The Acadia appears to be a nice vehicle on the surface, but the Honda Pilot is a proven vehicle. A bit dated, but proven.
The new Pilot is said to be a game changer, and Honda rarely brings a lemon to market. I'd say it will be a great vehicle.
For opinion...I'd rather have the older dated boxy looking 2008-2015 Pilot than the new sleeker crossover-esque 2016 Pilot. Just me, though.

I too think they are ugly but have heard their cargo capacity is pretty unexpected.

Not positive, but have been told, by a dealer mechanic, they arae built on the F150 chassis same as the Crown Vic. Make it in 4WD and I will buy.

I don't like the look of the new pilot since it looks like an overweight crv BUT look at that cargo space with the third row down... Not to mention better fuel economy

I bought a 2012 durango a few years back for my wife to drive around and with the snow and ice we have had here in germany it has never had a problem thanks to the AWD (my wife grew up driving nothing but geo metros until we got married), this third gen is hands down better than the 2nd generation. plus it is essentially the same thing as the Grand cherokee of the same timeframe just has third row seating. i will say that now we have three kids two in bulky car seats the only change i would make is the captains chairs for the middle row, however with that being said our plans are to buy her a minivan when we get back to the states and the durango will be my daily driver. if you get the 3.6L with it surprisingly it gets pretty good gas mileage for the size, i averaged 25 mpg on several trips from washington to utah and thats only with the 5 speed that was available for that year.
