Because if we aint, then at some point we will be dead. Fucking libtards.

Dumbest thing I read all day.

As a SF lover..please explain. Are you waiting for some other country to come and save your ass?

We are not the world police now, and have not been for 6 yrs. Look whats happening? And its spreading, soon it will be here. Then what?

Are you really that dense? His avatar is the Seahawk logo eating the 9er logo. But please, continue educating us on how the military industrial complex is actually making us safer.

Edit: By the way, Obama has drone bombed more countries than Bush, restarted the Iraq war while maintaining the Afghanistan occupation (baller status when a Dem [or libtard, as you so eloquently put it]) and is currently asking for a blank check war authorization against ISIS which will give him the power to make war wherever the fuck he pleases. So your strawman argument is just that.

Edit 2: Have to make it clear I don't support Obama in the slightest... just pointing out the stupidity of believing Democrats aren't pro-war.

Because we like to sit back in out comfy environment with our 'America, fuck yeah' attitude and send guys out to supposedly fight for our freedom, in pointless extended deployments with no clear strategy, no clear goals, and then erasing whatever good we did with political policies and actions that constantly float and drift with each election.

We don't think much about it before we do it anymore. It's just 'America, fuck yeah' and off you go son. Or daughter.

We feel quite free to do it, because we don't have to live with the consequences on the whole.

Only a select group of individuals do, and we tend to abandon them when they come back, if they come back alive.

If history is any indication, the hawkiest warmongers end up having "other priorities" when it actually goes to actual fighting.

Personally, I would love to take all our chickenhawks, put them on the outside armor of remotely controlled tanks, and send these tanks to Iraq, or somewhere like that. I would be happy to remotely control the tanks :-).

We may have finally agreed on something

Because life seems to be a game of cops and robbers. Unlike most countries who just want to be spectators, we want to play, and find the 'robber' role intensely repugnant. Hence, we're always the cops . . . or at least we were until Obama showed us how to 'lead from behind.'

What's more "intensely repugnant" - a robber, or a cop on the take? Please don't tell us that our Middle Eastern "adventures" is philanthropy in its purest form...

Yeah, yeah, why do I hate America...

Sorry. For the less mature, I should have used the word 'gangsta' . . .

As to your examples, I hate to get all Bible and Framers on ya, but it's the difference between Manifest Destiny (God is on our side so we can do whatever we want) and Divine Providence (God will bless us if we do the right thing).

Who are the robbers and where is their loot? Btw Obama has bombed more than Bush ever did.

If we really are the world's police than why don't we spend more time stopping atrocities in Africa? Besides Nigeria, which has lots of oil, we pretty much ignore the rest of Africa. Egypt went back to a brutal dictatorship and we're cool with that as long as the Muslim brotherhood isn't in charge. Now there seems to be a common theme between the countries that we are eager to "police".....they all have oil.

I would also argue that our corporations enjoy playing the robber role. United fruit in Guatemala, standard oil in Iran, Panama canal zone in Panama, Halliburton in Iraq and I'm sure there are others I can't think of at the moment. Or maybe we just like playing cowboy and Indian? I think we know how that one ends up.

Ugh. Should not type while gaming.

Well, no, the US doesn't go gangsta, but it certainly has gone gangster, perhaps refined mob style, but United Fruit (Now Chiquita) pretty much demonstrates the gangster power of the US

When you criticize the US such as in this case, do you mean the USA as it was designed, the American people of the period the 'gangster power' was in use, the whole federal government since 1781, or individual office holders and crony capitalists? Your post sounds like you mean all of the above except maybe the individuals.
