The FCC was supposed to let Congress see the proposed regs 30 days prior to voting on them, but the vote was held this morning, and the regs still aren't available.

They'll probably be a BIG improvement over the system we have now . . . . :ROFLMAO:

I know this is false because this is the most transparent administration ever. They would never withhold the regs from Congress or the public!

They are completely transparent in the sense that any thoughtful person can see right through their incessant lies.

Not without being able to read the regs.

Yeah I dont quite get what they're doing either.......

Apparently like the ACA very few people have actually read the bill or know whats actually in it.

That worked so well with health care what could go wrong?

Edit to add....

The President is all for it if that tells you anything.

It means that Comcast can't charge Netflix extra money to get a "fast lane". Nor can they slow the internet speeds for everyone else and charge you a premium to get into the "fast lane"

I just went to speedtest.net and came up with: 59.36 Mbps :thumbsup2:

I remember only paying for 20 Mbps through Comcrap.

Is this already in effect???

It prevents providers from structuring broadband access like cable. In essence, plan options could look like this without Net Neutrality.

1. Basic tier - includes 10mb/s speeds to uncategorized sites and non-web traffic, 15mb/s to Comcast.net streaming video, and 20mb/s speed to Bing! - 78.99/month
2. Gaming tier - includes 20mb/s speed to non-webpage traffic, 15mb/s to uncategorized sites, 20mb/s to Comcast.net streaming video, and 25mb/s to Bing! - 108.99/month
3. Ultimate tier - includes 30mb/s to all non-categorized traffic, 30mb/s to Comcast preferred sites, and 35mb/s to Comcast.net streaming video! - 129.99 month

Add Netflix.com +5mb/s bonus to any package - 9.99/month
Add Youtube.com +10mb/s streaming package - 14.99/month

Comcast rolled out massive network upgrades last month, this is unrelated.

That's purely conjecture.

Here's an additional conjecture for those who enjoy that sort of thing: Any FCC requirement currently imposed on broadcast (vs cable) tv can now be imposed by the FCC on internet users/ISPs since they're both now considered 'utilities.' For example, the fairness doctrine, 'community standards' regarding profanity, suspension of licenses (licenses!) for not providing community services, . . . oh, the possibilities are endless!
:shush:

The basic understanding, from people who have seen it and the proposed outline the FCC DID post, translates into:

We the FCC, an independent entity of the Federal Government, hereby declare that companies which offer internet access, are now public utilities.
As such, they have to follow our policies and procedures, and we will tell them how much they can charge for services.
As a start, you can not have "tiered" services. No up to 2MB for $50, up to 4MB for $60...Either they have access or they don't.
Additionally, you can not throttle.

However, you can charge for a certain amount of data moved, and when they hit a cap...simply shut them off.
Oh and we put some other stuff in there...but you can't see it until it gets passed.

Hmm
The White house controls the Fed, The FCC, All the Police in the country, The AG, and recently is quoted as saying, "So in the short term, if Mr. McConnell, the leader of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, want to have a vote on whether what I’m doing is legal or not, they can have that vote. I will veto that vote, because I’m absolutely confident that what we’re doing is the right thing to do."

No, the system isn't broke at all. Everything is fine! Here...have some more hay. We don't have a sheep Icon, so I'll just

(Yes! This fucktard thinks he can veto an impeachment vote by the House!! http://www.mrctv.org/blog/obama-go-ahea ... -will-veto)

Review the list of Impeached people in US history and tell me how half the sitting 537 are still in office!?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachmen ... ite_note-1
Historically:
You can get Impeached for DRUNKENESS - See you Ted, Ginsberg, a few others!!
committing perjury during the resulting investigation - Ummm HOLDER!
Abuse of power - Obama! (Who's motto should be, "Well...It doesn't specifically say I CAN'T do that."

I was thinking more along the lines of: "The Constitution? Homey don't play that."

What do you get through http://www.cnet.com/internet-speed-test/?ftag=CAD9f89b0c&bhid=25458119715702576238050286002387?

I'm only getting 11.09 to 14.72 currently (xfinity). No wonder some of you guys can respond to a post while I'm still composing mine!
