So much for state's rights.

Pretty much sums up America in 2015.

Since 1865-ish?

Not meaning that as a pro-South comment at all. Just seems that the "sovereign states" pretty much received their sign at about that time.

Next step after thumbing the nose at the Central Committee is a steamroller coming your way. Between the financial incentives and the federal agencies coming in and arresting a few folks, word seems to have gotten out about who is really in charge.

That's what you told the Top Sergeant.

In all seriousness, here is my view...
Mind you, I hate drugs. Even Mary Jane.
Legalize it, all of it.
Tax the ever loving monkey shit out of it, like hooch and cigarettes.
Those who OD will still OD.
Those who use it every now and again will still do so.

Are you aware that it's not physically possible to OD on Mary Jane? She is also drastically less physically harmful than hooch and cigs.

Eat an entire pan of full-strength brownies and then tell me it's not possible.

I don't think it will kill you. You'll probably freak the fuck out though.

You wouldn't die, you would be extremely high, mostly being consumed in a major panic attack with severe paranoia, heavy nausea, and dizziness. You can't die from smoking or eating pot. Being over stoned isnt very fun, these new edibles that are for sale at the pot shops pack a punch from what I've witnessed. Gotta take it slow to enjoy the ride.

Perhaps we should clarify what "OD" means, then. Does the person always have to die in order for their case to be considered an overdose, or can "overdose" incorporate cases of non-fatal over-consumption? If you are having major panic attacks and feel like you've lost your mind, that's an overdose in my book.

I've always thought and considered it an overdose when you have to go to the hospital to get treated because you will die if they don't bring you down, or you die.

Being too stoned won't stop your heart, make your heart blow up or give you a stroke or brain anerisium or whatever. It will make you feel like shit until you are able to fall asleep. Then when you wake up you feel groggy and drink some coffee.

Drugs were socially acceptable when i was young, still are.

This was, and is, the most medically drug prescribed - and addicted society on the face of the planet.

As kids, we just wanted our own drugs, not the ones our parents used.

Then, we either grew up, and tossed the drugs to pursue the tasks of adulthood, or we didn't.

Overdoses cleanse the gene pool.

Legalize everything.

Tax everything. Why ? Because dot gov will do it anyway.

Before all the whiners chime in about the harm to society, legalization would kill the black market price, and people already get all fucked up on drugs, so, what's the difference ?

Maybe legal drugs would have purity and strength standards that would lessen fatalities, but that's it.

Addicts become addicted, whether it is heroin, gambling, hookers, or chocolate.

Only real problem is that Mash Man would not have as many play mates at work in the future.
