I was just unlawfully detained by Kitsap County because a 911 caller said I was "laying prone behind a rifle, looking though a scope at houses."
None of which is true, I was true I was in the middle of a photo shoot for a review I am doing in a privately owner field. FOIA and article to follow!

That sucks! Did they confiscate your weapons?

so their spying on you in your own home with a telescope or binos
gun gone? jail time in future?

No, I was not arrested and they let me out of handcuffs and left. So I can imagine that it was cleared without a case number, but I won't know until the FOIA is fulfilled.
There was a 911 call from a guy who said that I was laying in the field, proned out and then exchanged words with him. Truth of the matter is that I was walking back inside with my armor kit and rifle after a photo shoot, camera bag in hand, rifle held pointed down (no mag) held by the butt stock. The closest he got to me was about 80yds.
They detained me because I pointed out that I was not committing a crime, and refused to show ID just because an officer asked for it. Was I being a dick by refusing, maybe. But there has to be a line somewhere and I draw it at providing ID when not required to do so. So officers admit, before cuffing me that I was "not committing a crime" then detain me for committing a crime so they can get my ID.
They disarmed me, took my handgun out of the holster and my knife. They did not take any serials and would not allot them to "inspect" my rifle. They left my handgun on the trunk of my car sitting there and told me "once they were gone I could pick it up."
I am uploading videos and such right now.

Have you spoken with Rob Apgood about this yet?

America. The transformation.
Let me guess. The rat is a freedom loving liberal?

I have not. I'm so far out of the OC game, I'm not sure who is who anymore.
I'm sure I'll find out soon enough when I get the 911 tape what his political leanings are.

Plot twist. Maybe somebody misunderstood the photoshoot and called 911.
Police show up, as they are wont to do over the call. Detain person long enough to determine if threat or not. Which, is legal. It's a bit different than say, just walking down the street OCing and being stopped.

Have you ever had issues with this concerned citizen? I assume you would have mentioned if he was out to get you, but some people are just sneaky ass hats...
I have a few neighbors that are the same way, calling cops and running inside when I get home or come out the front door, except they are the really sketchy kind with cars coming and going all the time day and night, so I think seeing me load a rifle up for the range or catching sight of my pistol as I get out of the car just makes them tweak a bit

That sucks. My neighbors have no clue on what I have.
I will keep that way.

Never even seen this guy... No idea where he lives, or who he is. This is a large private area behind my place. Use it all the time for photo shoots and such.
Honestly I remember seeing a post a while back on one of the anti-gun pages about hyping the situation to "get the gun toting idiots." Honestly I think I got swatted. I won't know until I get CAD printouts and the 911 call.

How is it well within there rights to detain someone who is not committing a crime just to see his papers? I'm sorry that they want to know who he is but they don't get to just stop and search whoever they please.

Particularly on their private property, as Sam describes it.

Based on the account of the incident it sounds like they had at least probable cause to speak with him. Get a call of a man with a rifle scoping houses... they go to investigate. Find a man with a rifle... do you see the dominoes falling into place?
Just because one is on private property doesn't mean the police can't not come talk to him outside. Which they did. Because they were investigating a report. And they saw enough stuff to justify further investigation into that report. It's like fundamental police work 101.
