Other people need to mind their business. It doesn't matter if I'm in full drag parading up and down the street. Mind your goddamned business.

Alarmists lead to hysteria.

You're from San Francisco too?

I never would have guessed. Usually we can spot one of our own a mile away. :ffight: :045:

What Sam experienced was not swatting by any stretch of the imagination.

Click. Bait.

This started with your claim of you being concerned if you saw someone out in full ninja gear.

Shitbrown khakis and black shirt, hat on what looks to be a sunny day, lord save us all, columbine up in this bish. Shit i wore a black polo and some shitbrown chinos to work today.

Im very concerned, im going to have a casual convomosation with 911 and have some gigglez. Im soooo concerned.

No, actually it started out with me calling bullshit on Sam's claims of being Swatted. Everything else is secondary to tertiary at best, and mainly stated to make the claim that he's created pretty much the entire situation, could have avoided it all, and is now trying to milk it for all it's worth with bullshit claims of being swatted, so he can get some of that sweet, sweet, oppressed gun owner cred that you need these days to make it writing in some circles.

I'm not the one crying wolf here.

Steve, you're normally quick to explain your thinking... Am I on your ignore list or is someone holding you at knife point over there?

My inclination is to go with : someone saw a firearm and tried to get the bearer into a stinky mess (succeeded to a point.)
I know people like this - have had to work with a few. The mindset is vicious. The hatred is visceral.

Sam was there, and I think he knows better what really happened. I'm going with his version. And see no reason at all to trash on him unless you have some facts to share. A gut feeling, or anecdotes about how you have handled similar situations better in the past are a bit beneath your lofty stature Mr. Kick off those heels and rest a spell, Mr Crankypants. :cheers2:

I still haven't really figured out how the "Just show your papers and everything will be ok" response is ok with ANYONE in the free world. (Partly free, I mean.)

You can do better than an ad hominem attack on Sam... Explain why the "just show your papers" response is ok with you... please. Serious request. I am not looking for explanations of how things will be better if he does so- I am referring to the illegality of being required to show the (somewhat) metaphorical papers when it's not required (by law) and he wasn't suspected of committing a crime. A call in to a 911 center is not reasonable suspicion I don't think.

I am open to correction... True words.

(In case you missed it... Don't make me worry that it's unworthy of your time... Wait. Is it? My self-confidence is taking a beating over here. Come on man. )

Good. Animal control won't have to be called alongside Shield.

I don't know what happened when the cops showed up or what lead to them cuffing him. I strongly suspect that the whole mess could have been avoided in any number of ways, which wouldn't include showing papers, but that is largely based on my personal experience.

What we have here, is Sam making a number of claims about the person who called in the complaint, and implying that the person was deliberately anti gun, while ignoring all the red flags that could be legitimate reasons for a rational person to call the police. He then makes the absurd claim that he was "Swatted" which, even a cursory glance at swatting and what it entails and the methods to make it happen, clearly didn't occur here.

So the big question is, why the insistence that he was "swatted" who gains by such bullshit?

What happened afterwards is largely unknown, because we only have one side of the story, and it's a story that is carefully groomed, spun and presented in order to make a particular set of points, and to engage in self promotion. It stinks to high heaven, and has been spun to get maximum sympathy from a market and audience or potential audience.

He has not posted anything directly from the FOIA/PD request yet either.

But this is about as factual an article as the "patriots take down Chinese flag over capitol in Olympia" story.

This is great. Instead of rallying behind a man whose rights were violated... You wanna pick apart every detail and proclaim how great things would be if he didn't exercise his rights and just coughed up his papers to pinky mcthunderthighs and her associates.

Let's also quibble and quarrel about the exact definition of a phone call made in an attempt to get a police response.

Great.... Just great.

Makes me feel real good knowing which 'supporters of the Constitution' are full of shit and will be the first to toss their rights to the side to 'make things easier for themselves'..

The same two contrarians tearing apart fellow gun enthusiasts with verbs and pronouns, creating a unified front of word smithed verbal poo poo.

Color me surprised.

It seems like everyone on this forum is a loser except for these two Lone Rangers of truth and justice.

Hi Ho, Keyboard, away we go !

I fart in your general direction. And, your breath smells like elderberries.

He hasn't made a strong case for his rights being violated. I've said it before, it takes skill to get cuffed like that.

How were his rights violated? The police can lawfully detain someone while they investigate if a crime took place.
Many, many times people get cuffed, they investigate and go ok you're free to go.

And I'd like to hear the 911 call or see a transcript. His post about it was heavily editorialized.

Has a complaint been filed?
