You must be a Dr too. When an actual one has spoken in this thread, I'll take his advice over yours. But thanks. Again, dont do it if you want, thats fine, but there is medical evidence to back it up. Just because you dont like it, doesn't make it any less relevant.
I'll pass on what my doctor said.
"There's no real reason to do it, glad you guys are making that choice."
'Cause you know, there's just one set of doctor's opinions out there and they all share the same ones.
There's very little in the way of issues with uncircumcised penises that can't be solved with, "wash yo dick." I assure you, if you're not washing yo dick there's very little chance of a female(or male, or goat for that matter) putting her mouth on your penis whether circumcised or uncircumcised.
Thays exactly what I'm getting at. There is more than one doctor's opinion. Our sons Dr doesnt have a preference one way or the other. Many Dr's do. A lot of it comes down to cleaning, but not all of it is as simple as that. Hopefully you never have to deal with that.

No way Casey. Only people that are filthy and dont take care of their junk have issues. There isn't any issues later in life, if any Dr says so, they are wrong. Facts dont matter here, only that those that get it done are wrong, cause someone told them so!

it is amazing what you can tell by people's reactions to a subject....those that are uncircumcised are defensive (for one reason or another), some of the circumcised feel they have advantages, some of those that are circumcised are angry about not being able to make the choice for themselves or perhaps wish they still had their foreskin....
Me I could not care one way or the other....there is evidence to support both opinions
This whole mess reminds me of the Dr. Seuss book The Sneeches

Honestly the biggest issue I've ever had is with not washing properly after sex.
I've gone on week long camping trips where there was very little in the way of washing of anything and not had issues.
Wasn't the article more about violation of a parenting plan and kinda sorta kidnapping than about the pros and cons of a circumcision?
The thread title is a swerve.

There is a little medical benefit, not a lot. .. but you can't claim that there is absolutely none as that's not true either. ..
That said it's not like your going to die if you don't either. .. but it's far from barbaric. .. now piercing for no medical reason, that's barbaric. . Or is it?
That said, i like that i can go camping, take a piss and not worry about washing my Dick...
Or start itching because i was leaking a little bit from laughing at a movie. ..
As you get older and senile, the medical benefit or convenience starts to become more significant. ..

A wet wipe takes care of any issues, but then again any issue I've had has been a direct result of sex. When I take a piss I shake it off the same as anyone else. No issues from that. Maybe that will change when I'm 50, 60, 70, whatever. But over 30 years, no major issues.

didn't mean to suggest it's an issue.. just that I like the convenience since I don't have to worry about wet wipes and such...
and don't have to worry about any possible issues after sex either... that said, it's not a big deal to clean up as most people do anyway, it's just good hygiene...
it's when you are in a nursing home and you can't care for yourself that it becomes an issue.. we had a 70 year old that had to have the procedure as he developed chronic infection as a result of urinary leakage...
but I also have a lot of old patients that do fine uncircumcised... so it's not a you need to have it done, it's more a minor convenience if you have it done... a minor convenience that is negligible if your views are against it...

Times are changing. I never had any social or female problem being unsnipped.
You are totally right! I'll admit that their stories did play a small part in my non-hesitance to do the deed when it was asked. But I also did it because I was as well, as well as (AFAIK) everybody in my family.
To me, I could care less if you or anybody else is snipped or not. It doesn't change who you are, your personality or anything else like that. Like mentioned below, it is a parents choice weather to have their child undergo that process or not. Same as vaccines, cloth or bulk diapers, soy or lactose...
To snip or not to snip doesn't make the man.. The other head does that.
