first real job was at Shakey's pizza in overlake. it sucked but loved me some pizza and mojos though. my first day i spilled a pitcher of water on a customer, thankfully he was an employee. my tenure wasn't long. It was the same summer this guy was doing work http://murderpedia.org/male.R/r/russell ... rfield.htm I didn't know I wasn't a likely target at that point, all I knew up the road at Black Angus they found a body by the dumpsters and there was a serial killer around. I was scared shitless emptying the garbages at night. A few years later in a Criminal Justice the instructor showed us crime scene photos of how he left victim Carol Beethe. That was 20+ years and I can still vividly remember that photo.

Shagging golfballs on a small range in Montana. .50¢ a bag, basically a penny a ball. I was there every other day, made about 3-8 bucks in an hour or so. Not bad for a ten year old.

My first job, at age 15, was working for one Seth Warshavsky as a telephone sex operator. Seriously. I was a virgin, as I would remain until I married, FTR. Did it for about eight or nine months, until Mr. Warshavsky was arrested for running a prostitution ring, among other offences, and the office--and it was just an ordinary office on Capitol Hill, just a bunch of cubicles filled with women listening to men describe their fantasies and reciprocating with the appropriate moans and whimpers and descriptions of what they (weren't) wearing (we wore regular clothes)--was raided by SPD and the FBI, and was shut down.
I had more than a few "regulars", guys who would call in just to talk to me about whatever--not even sexual stuff--at $1.99 a minute or something like that. It was good money while it lasted--and taught me a lot about men. Not only about the zillions of fetishes out there--and there is a fetish for everything--but also just ordinary things.
My second job was far more mundane, and led to me obtaining my L.V.T.--working as a veterinary assistant at a 24 hour clinic in North Seattle. By that time I had finished my B.Sc., and was soon to be married.

mowed lawns in the summer, shoveled snow in the winter, raked leaves in the fall, collected cans, bottles, worked odd jobs when I could.
The summer of my 13th Bday, I made enough money mowing lawns for Dad to take me down to Western Auto so I could buy a semiautomatic .22 rifle.
The summer after my junior year of high school, I live in the tack room of a barn for 3 months milking cows and what ever the old guy had me do. My pay for the summer was 2.5 acres of land. I sold the land many years later for 25x what I estimated I paid for it.

If you don't count house chores, paper route than mine would be getting hired as a part time flagger for construction sites and such.

My first money was picking up pop and beer bottles out of the ditch on the side of the road. Then return them to the store for the deposit refund. Walked a lot of miles back then. Also as a family we sold earth worms for fishermen. When I hit 12, I had an 8 mile paper route by bicycle. There were over 120 customers. On Sunday, my father drove me in the car, because that many papers weighed to much.

Sold newspapers on the street right out of elementary school. 4th grade you could go to the paper office at 3:30, right after school and get fresh run papers. The owners kid kept a ledger. You'd get fifty papers at a cost of .15 ea. The cover price was .25. So we got to keep .10 ea paper plus tips. Always made more on tips of course. You could make 5-6 bucks an afternoon. Kept us in lures and .22 shells. Junior high I got a route, and quickly stacked the 3 routes that were along the way home. I used a 3-wheeler in the winter. All 3 routes garnered me like 250 bucks and paid once a month. At 14 I got a job at rental shop that rented everything from carpet stretchers to bobcats and boats. Been workin on shit in one way or another ever since.
Dad told me when I dropped outta HS: "Son, there's two kinds of jobs in this world. There's them you shower before, and there's them you shower after. I think your making the wrong choice."
I was almost thirty before I could remind him of it and admit he was right. Damn Old Man.

When I like 6 or 7 or so I would hand out samples at my dad's fruit market in Pike place.
From like 8-13 I would rip off other kids for Pokemon and Yugioh cards and profit nicely (at that time) for those.
From 13-17 I would buy old NES, SNES, N64, etc games at garage sales and craigslist that I knew were rare or worth more money and sell them on eBay. Most successful month brought me in $2k after eBay/shipping fees.
First "real" job was a bag boy at Safeway when I turned 16. (Funny I would some times make more from slinging games than that).
I honestly think that the buying and selling video games taught me the most until I started to work in retail banking. Looking back now it just solidifies my opinion that in America if you want to be successful you can.

I made my first money at age 18 when I coded up a subsystem for a laser range meter for an artillery unit.

Rabbits. My grandparents had a garden in their back yard. The forest behind that was home to a warren or two of rabbits. Not their property, so they couldn't go gas them or whatever. The solution instead was 8 year old me, who sat with a 22 rifle nearby. I was paid .50 cents per rabbit plus all the lemonade and ham sandwiches I could consume.

I am free because I say I am. My freedom is not dependent on any government benefit or piece of legislation. My rights are inherent in the fact that I was born a sovereign being. They are non-negotiable. The government can list them and protect them, but my rights are not theirs to give away.
