Among them a 300 yard shot is considered "Point Blank". Perhaps tough with an AR-15 but not for a ood 30 cal bolt action rifle. Has there been any confirmation on caliber? The scattered initial chatter I heard indicated handgun, which would be mighty impressive. One was shot in the face and the other in the shoulder, both were conscious when loaded up for the trip to the hospital. Their injuries don't immediately indicate (to me, at least - maybe they do to others) whether it was or wasn't a rifle round.

So far witnesses are reporting distances of 200+ yds but the the police chief has estimated the distance at 125 yds. We already know 105 yds is entirely doable with a pistol. Spent brass has been located and initial reports claim they're handgun rounds. We'll have to see what the scoop is when they release more detailed info.

Could be a handgun round out of a rifle (Keltec- JRC) type

Not making light of the shooting.
It seems according to the news that tyhe officers will make full recovery.
but.
Obvious BGC fail.
This May be used as a spring board for for the Anti Gun establishment.

I am free because I say I am. My freedom is not dependent on any government benefit or piece of legislation. My rights are inherent in the fact that I was born a sovereign being. They are non-negotiable. The government can list them and protect them, but my rights are not theirs to give away.

Prediction. It will get swept under the rug because the inner city is culturally disarmed, and the Ferguson pd was playing some hard core asshole shit (one good shoot aside ). Quite frankly I'm surprised there hasn't been more blowback. Tyrants gonna get burned when they play the games they were in Ferguson. The city is lucky there is no cohesive movement to riot and attack the government.

The entire police staff and all first responders should up and leave and let this city that doesn't want them to police it's self.

Now NBC is saying 125 yards. Quote: The shootings came toward the end of a rally that followed the resignation of the Ferguson police chief. The two officers who were shot were standing together in what Belmar described as a line of 20 to 25 officers. He said that three or four shots had been fired from about 125 yards. Observation: a line of 20-25 cops is easier to hit with a handgun at 125 yards than just 2 cops walking around. If you fire enough shots, someone will get hit.
