If it's an attack helicopter, it ceases to be a UH-1 and becomes an AH-XXX
UH = Utility Helicopter , AH = Attack Helicopter
Also, cannot be named 'venom', US Army choppers are named from indian tribes..
Chinook, Apache, Iroquois, Kiowa Warrior, etc...

Chinook, Apache, Iroquois, Kiowa Warrior, etc... I can't watch the vid, but it looks to be a Marine program. They have the Cobra, which is not a tribe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UH-1Y_Venom

It is sort of wild to see that the 2.75" rocket systems are still in use after 50 years of service.

Most are merely rehabilitated at Anniston Depot when they get a little tired. Everyone wants an M-2 or one of it's variants when the SHTF.

Chinook, Apache, Iroquois, Kiowa Warrior, etc... Wanna piss off a helo pilot or crew, call them choppers. Really want to piss off a hooker pilot, call them a double screw chopper jockies. Although, Blackhawk pilots will accept crashhawk. Nothing like a hot drop, and seeing grass just a few inches higher than your head getting milled off in front of you.

The set up brings to mind the HH53 rescue helo used in Vietnam. Gatling guns, 2.75" launchers. That bird also had air to air refuel capability, and a 40mm grenade chin turret, and pintle mounts for M60's.

I will just flip it over and mount it on the top of my Volvo. Prius parts anyone? I forgot all about those.

There were a couple in the Army that didn't get Indian names. The AH1 Cobra, the Littlebird, and a couple others. The Indian names didn't start until the late 50s.
