Some of you might actually like it when it's finished.

The backstory of this was a conversation on a facebook post by one of my favorite sci fi authors. Somebody, possibly him said that there weren't enough romance stories with exploding spaceships. I wrote two throwaway joke paragraphs about a lesbian couple making out as an exploding spaceship burned up in the atmosphere, and suddenly people wanted to read the idea. So I've been playing with it for a few weeks, and finally started working on the introduction.

Sci fi readers will quickly note I am a Heinlein fan, and it figures in some of the thinking in this story. This story is set sometime in the early 22nd century. There is a permanent moon colony, with an orbiting lunar station. There is a smaller base on Mars, which supports a fleet of mining craft in the asteroid belt. The United States has had a religious revival (think the spirit of the religious revivals of the early 19th century) which has placed a strongly religious and increasingly theocratic government in place. (Yes, it's a commentary on modern times, thank you for noticing.) The exploding spaceship in the story is a mining support vessel which has been fitted with weapons, and is used as a sort of orbiting giant fist to intimidate a united Europe. As the arming of this vessel was unexpected, and there are no comparable sized vessels in space under European, Indian, Chinese or South American control, it will be some time before anyone else can get additional military power into space, although the Chinese space station may actually be armed, and the Russian lunar outpost features missiles and a small cannon. Not all of these elements will appear in this story, but they are there.

Anyway, here is a 363 word rough, unedited, unpolished teaser for what I am writing. It has a bit of everything. Hot lesbians, exploding spaceships, theocrats, a second constitution restoring American Revolution, good guy NSA that saves the Republic, space stations, atomic weapons, etc... maybe even nudity and sex of all sorts.

The person telling the story has some bionic parts, so you've got some robotics right there.

I was actually thinking the cannon was a 20mm cannon for picking off space debris and the like. Less of a power drain on the base, I haven't decided yet. Depends on how much time I spend in this story on the lunar bases. This one is more about the personal relationship between the two woman, some back story on the movement that touches this whole thing off, the asshole admiral, and the exploding spaceship. It will lead into a second story that will probably spend more time on the moon.

I'll post the entire prologue where when it's done. Then you all can wait for me to finish the whole thing and put it up for sale.

Umm not quite. The whole concept was a throw away joke that a lot of people wanted to see fleshed out, so what was comic absurdity is now actual serious fiction.

I'd buy it.

Im not a woman but would hazard a guess that a rape victim would not be in any mood for romance under any conditions for quite a while.

Maybe there is a place in the story for the two vagina warrior.

Then they can make a movie from the book and show it on Oxygen.
