No the events take place in early 22nd century. The story is told through the lens of fifty some odd year old memory.

Yes. I wrote this and more, put down my beer and am ignoring it while some thoughts percolate, then I'll clean it up and move on to the day it all started.

A story about young lesbians is much more likely to get the male audience than old lesbians.....a little too close to reality and not enough like fantasy. Just be sure to make it not suck the way I hear Enders Game sucked (the movie) at the end. I wasn't really a fan of the way Xenocide or Speaker for the Dead were either....felt like a different theme/world altogether. Now if you want to go more Timothy Zahn style, that would be cool.
