I am begining to wonder why some people own guns?

Sun Mar 15, 2015 4:43 pm

So it is not so much on here, as it is on Facebook and the gun groups there. (not to mention craigslist, offer up, etc) People don't read, they offer up idiotic stupid fucking trades that no one wants, they price police, trash your thread with idiotic statements, omfg, I can go on and on!! :angryfire:

I am trying to trade my H&K for a hunting rifle. I know how much I paid, and I don't want to loose my ass on a gun that I shot ten rounds through. In my add it says specifically what I want, a hunting rifle in .308 with a scope. I would prefer a Tikka T3. I have been offered in no particular order:

Highpoint .40 rifle and $200
Mossberg shotgun and 100 rounds
Springfield armory 1911
been told my gun can be had for $500 on gunbroker. (lowest VP9 LE is $640, I looked)
Marlin .22 with 1000 rounds of ammo and money on my end. icon_eek
Been told to use a .243 on elk with his savage rifle and no scope.

And a few others I am forgetting.

But the biggest thing is people telling me or asking me how much cash? GOD FUCKING DAMMIT, READ THE TITLE!!!!!!! WANT TO TRADE!!!
Then when you call them on their stupidity they price police and trash your thread. I am amazed these people pass background checks. It is scary they own firearms. You know they have never read an owners manual, smoke dope, and are just downright fucking stupid.

OK, rant over. :timeout:

I got offered swords, leather couch, 2 premier lifetime memberships to the Front Sights training, a brake job and all the price nazis out there commenting. I just trashed their post because it was mine and it worked out just fine.

I don't mess with them anymore.

Had a guy offer me some "high quality herb" for a pistol I was looking to sell... I laughed at him then passed the info off to some friends.

Well, as a buyer I pretty much just ignore anything that's for trade only, because:

1) I probably don't have anything that I want to trade.
2) I figure that "WTT" is code for "I don't want to talk specific numbers because I want to come out ahead in this deal," and of course that wouldn't be good for me.

I have $729 into it. That being said, a New Tikka T3 is $589. Most people do not follow the rule of double the price of glass than the rifle. So I expect like a Nikon or Bushnell. The closest deal was a 700vtr with a bushnell banner 6-18. The scope is crap, and I told him I did not want it. The rifle new is $620 plus tax. So I asked for $100 cash and he said no. I offered full retail for his, and mine at full retail with tax. I thought that was fair. But he does not want the scope either.

Throw in a pressure washer and you have a deal!

I am thinking of making my own board on there, called the gun buy and sell with no bs. Price police, add anything to the thread that does not belong and you are banned instantly.

Honest opinion. Just opinion.

HK's have crappy resale value in this area. Tikkas are popular and holding value in this area.

Trades are difficult because one man's trash is another man's treasure. Best bet to recoup what you paid is an online auction site or the HK forums. But, that negates the trade situation. Will be a difficult transaction to make, but there is always hope.

GLWT

..and people being unable to read simple requests does get really old. I posted a WTB for a beater AK and have had almost a dozen replies for SKS, bolt guns, ARs, and even handguns. One guy offered to trade me a pretty nice shotgun for my AK.... :facepalm2:

This is still nothing compared to the dumbfuck who offered me a "very large fish tank" for my SOCOM 16 a few years ago.

You should've done that. Some of those tanks can bring big money, especially if they're set up for salt water.

Missed out, man. :ROFLMAO:
