Nice, congrats to them. Now everyone else can stop bitching about the long guns!

Good for them. Off to OCDO and see if the TX area is getting a swarm of people.

Looks like they'll still have to take some sort of training class or licensing, including "retention" training. For a state that likes to pretend it's all about red blooded 'murican liberties, they sure are heavy handed on carry laws.

I'd still take WA firearm laws over TX any day.

Remember they have no guns signs on private property with the FORCE OF LAW.

I lived in Texas.

Of course they don't have UBC's either. Most states don't.

This is indeed a curious thing. Although 594 sucks donkey balls, I've heard places like SC, TX, etc where you think the firearms laws would be the most lenient, aren't.

Good for them! I was in TX a few years ago for business and I carried, but just the fact of printing could get you in trouble was scary shit.

there is no printing law in this state. there never has been. however, the gun laws in this state are "pay to play." this OC bill has licensing attached to it, which makes it a step on the wrong direction. it's all about extortion fees in this state.

Good to know. When I went I went for work but also visited a Dallas cop buddy of mine who told me if you print, he/they? Consider it brandishing and bad things happen.

he told you wrong. it's a common misconception here in tejas. however, chl instructors know this, but prefer to spread their ignorance because it's just dollar signs for them. you can have a holstered gun on your hip. as long as you're covering it with something, it is perfectly legal. the difference between displaying/brandishing a pistol and concealing in this lame ass state is a piece of cloth.

 :plusone:

The thing I like about Texas is, when you are good in the Law, you are good. But when you cross the line, you get it good, real good.

Yeah, like when you walk into a private business while carrying and get arrested for violating their "no guns" sign.

It goes beyond trespassing on the first moment they see it? Back that shit up. Now.

he's typing out of his ass. does it really surprise you? most businesses don't even enforce it if it's NOT a 30.06 sign. if it is, they'll tell a person to leave. if that person refuses, that's when it'll escalate.
