It was much easier to take her into my arms than it's going to be to watch her go...

I sympathize with you !!!!!!!!!!
I have told my daughter MANY times: "Regardless how old a woman may become, some place, some where, she is still Daddies little girl."
The usual response : her eyes roll up and she saws " Daaaaad"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This condition lessens with time. BUT when the grand kids come along, your point of interest changes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am thankful I have 2 boys. I'd be a maniac being an overprotective father to a daughter.

What a nice picture. Congratulations!
(Oh, and . . . I'm sorry that you're losing her. But you're not losing her. Well, you know what I mean.

You know, there is a chance there could be some eligible additions to your family on here... Haha

Well I'll be the first to say if I had a mother in law as beautiful as you I'd be a happy man...
My little girl is only 2.5 and I really don't want that day to come

I dread the day my girl isnt around on a daily basis. Its an inevitable evolution that school, marriage, life will force a split in our paths but like all other stages we have to embrace the change and do what we can for our child
I feel ya, enjoy her happiness and congrats

Nice picture. Congrats, and condolences.

On the bright side, she looks very happy. Hopefully they aren't moving too far away and you're more adding a new member to the family than losing one.

Hey.
Looks aren't everything....I'm meaner than a sack of rattlesnakes!
BTW...don't think your girl being 2.5 is safe--she will be moving on, like, tomorrow. I kid you not. That's what happened to me.
Thanks everyone, for the kind words...I had my first sobfest yesterday after writing a sort of 'goodbye' letter to her...upon reading it, it started getting all blurry and the strangest sound started. My 16 y/o boy awkwardly hovered around the noisy creature....Mama NEVER cries....

Am old. Over 65. Yet I still have a 15 y/o son and a 17 y/o daughter. When a gf was commenting about how I must be looking forward to the last chicks leaving the nest, I was making weird noises. Then my 5 and 11 y/o granddaughters came in and took over my lap. Be happy mom, it gets better.
