House Republicans unveiled a 10-year budget blueprint on Tuesday that would balance the federal government's books within a decade utilizing steep spending cuts, no new taxes and a fundamental overhaul of the nation's entitlement programs, including Medicare. . . .
His plan would cut $5.5 trillion in spending over the next decade, balance the amount of money the government spends with what it takes in from revenues by 2024, and operate with a surplus by 2026.
Won't get past Obama, but it'll make a serious campaign theme for 2016, IMO.
