In that case, I said it. Whoever said it, the concept holds true as much today as it did 70 years ago.

There were a couple of people who claimed to, the guy I met (Rex Barber?) passed away a few years back I think.
This was in Oregon 20 years ago. We had lunch with Saburo Sakai who gave me a zero pilot association scarf.

Seeing two veterans from opposing sides together decades later was interesting to observe.

I was wrong... the guy selling his book at WAC was the pilot that shot down "Pappy" Boyington
