Well, I'm a little over 1700 miles into my drive from Florida to Washington. My goodness, we have such a beautiful country!
Wonderful rolling green hills through Alabama and Mississippi. Breathtaking views of valleys and the southern end of the Appalachians. Hilltop farmhouses and silos dotting a landscape of fertile land, a place that provides us with so much. Truly breath-taking....
I am so glad I chose to drive to my new home in the west :)

Hit the Natchez Trace!!! Use your Google Fu! I rode my Goldwing 125 miles of it after Shiloh and it is amazing.
No Semis, stop lights or stop signs for 400+ miles... Totally beautiful.
You're Welcome!

Nothing says welcome to the west like a trip through Nevada with a quick stop at the Bunny Ranch.

This.
Take the extra time to drive up and see them. Along with downtown Deadwood. The Black Hills is an awesome place.

Amen, I have been all over the US, no place I would rather be than Washington. It's not perfect, but it's now home. When I was a truck driver I got to see all western 11 states. You can keep the southwest, Texas, Arizona and so-cal. I will stay right here..

Agree with you there. Too hot and damn dry drives me nuts. Frankly I even like sweaty hot rather than bone dry. Weird.....maybe I'll retire in the south. Or right here! Bring on summer baby, nothing better.

in sep 07 I left Ft. Gordon, GA (Augusta) 3 days before my Bday and drove with a friend back to Ft. Lewis, WA. Wanted to make it back ASAP and as cheap as possible so me and a buddy switched off driving and made it in a total elapsed time of 44 hours. stopped only for gas. Good Times. Safe travels!
