what I found pretty amazing is when you drive the western half of the country you can really see a difference in terrain when you cross state lines....at least I did when I drove CA to KY.

i did WA to FL, back to WA twice, moving my MIL first and then my family back in '04. moved back in '06.

I do have to admit, the east coast is especially beautiful in the spring and fall (when the humidity is less oppressive).

Well, only made it as far as Sturgis today.... I'm gonna have to quit stopping (but there is so much cool stuff to see)! Man it is so pretty out here. The black hills are amazing! I gotta admit though, between the steep grades and the snow flurries, this Florida boy has a white knuckle grip on the wheel and a foot over the brake pedal most of the time. Mountain driving is a little intense for someone used to flat country. Now I guess I am hoping to make Kent by Saturday night. I have to be to work by Monday morning.....

Dude suck it up and take your time, it's a hell of a trip that I'd love to do. Arrive her at 3-4 on Sunday. And pound some coffee in the am. The camaro looks sweet what's it run? Kent is super close to pacific raceways, lucky duck.

Yeah, I know. I have never seen any of this before, and I am loving it!

Best I ever got out of the Camaro is a 12.98 @ 109. But that was only once! very consistent 13.0 car. Unfortunately I had to sell that one to help get me through my last semester of school. I do look forward to getting established in Washington and starting the next one. I am a total junkie for street rods!

Sweet have fun. Pick up something funky and light like a pinto, chevette or regal and do a 5.3 chevy turbo setup.

Actually looking forward to a warm summer, however at the end of summer I am looking forward to a snowy winter (I came from a place that NEVER saw snow).

I am strangely the same way, I like my heat wet, as well as my cold. I HATE dry heat.

Today I crossed the continental divide. What an amazing, beautiful, terrifying, breathtaking, exhausting, wonderful experience!!!

I took Mediumrarechicken's advice and took my time on the final leg of the journey. And what an adventure it has been!

Well, I made Washington tonight, staying at a motel in Spokane. Tomorrow I cross the cascades and then Kent. This has been an experience I shall never forget. One full of incredible sights, interesting characters, and a terrific sense of "I did it"!

Well, tomorrow you're going to see the two halves of Washington. You're going to drive through the vast "wasteland" of eastern Washington, then you'll go up into the Cascades and Snoqualmie Pass, and then you're going to dive down into the clouds and rain.

Now I'm exaggerating a little. A little. The "wasteland" is actually amazingly beautiful, in my opinion. I love the spaciousness and ruggedness.

And of course, the west side has a lot to offer in spite of the wetness . . . which is why most of us are living here.

Pretty funny about the "wastelands". They really do have their own beauty though. And crossing the Columbia river was awesome. I stopped at one of those scenic outlook places... Incredible! Crossing the Cascades was a trip. Gorgeous scenery the whole way. And somewhat less scary than the Rockies. It is going to take some getting used to driving through these drastic elevation changes...

Well, I did finally make it to Kent today. I also discovered the horror that is the 405. That is a hell of a parking lot on a Sunday afternoon. I now aim to find a house that will never require me to drive on that road again! Also, while taking an afternoon drive to check out the new town, I did manage to get lost and end up in a very shady looking area of town. I guess that is required though when moving somewhere new :)
