I work in Kent but live near Puyallup. I'm also in what I consider to be a nexus of freeways. I can take HWY 18, I-5, HWY 167 or HWY 512 with relative easy. 167 is a steaming pile of shit that unfortunately feeds into I-405. IMO, depending on where you live, somewhere out near Maple Valley/Covington might fit what you are looking for. If you have to contend with 167 to get to work, try to get on before 6AM or get yourself a Good to Go pass.
Kent/Renton/Tukwila area can be sketchy, so pack heat, especially if you go to SouthCenter Mall (which I try to avoid...nice mall, just too many shady loiterers).
