Yes, I did a search first, and there was a thread from last year on the subject last year, but it looked like there were a lot of pics that either no longer work, or were a bit too risky to have on work screens. Plus creepy pics of a dude in a towel with a coffee mug.
I've been on a bit of a Bikini coffee kick that last few days so I thought I'd share some of my favorite ones and see what else is out there that you all like.
For those of you who don't know, here is a directory of darn near every Bikini Coffee stand in the PNW:
http://bikini-baristas.com. The front page does have one bikini pic, but it is pretty "bland" so you are probably safe to pull that one up at work.
Not too far from the Tacoma Dome is the shop that I consider to be the "Gold Standard" so far. Smokin' Hot Espresso on River Road (
http://www.yelp.com/biz/smokin-hot-espresso-tacoma).
By no means is it the best, but one really nice feature it seems is that the gals will post pics daily on their facebook page so you know who is working, what the outfit is, etc. A lot of stands could learn from their website and use of social media to try and connect with their customers. There is also a companion shop across the narrows from what I understand.
Out on Canyon Rd in Puyallup, Temptations Espresso. They have some pretty good scenery. Sorry, not much info for them on the web (
http://www.yelp.com/biz/temptations-espresso-puyallup)
In Kent, a bunch have closed down but a relatively new on to the market is Bikini Beans (
http://www.yelp.com/biz/bikini-beans-espresso-kent-2). The gal in the morning is the owner from what I understand and both she and the afternoon gal have been around the Bikini espresso circuit for a few years. The coffee was damned good. Got a smoothie the other day and the afternoon gal (either by necessity or by choice) demonstrated her flexibility a bit because of where the ice and syrup were.
Honorable mention: Love You A Latte, right on Military Rd Off I-5 (exit 149).
http://www.yelp.com/biz/love-you-a-latte-kent. Seem really nice, and although the....um....product may not be first class they really seem to do a good job with what they've got.
I've been personally really disappointed lately by LadyBugs espressos. I had first visited the one in UP, but yesterday the one in Auburn on Military Rd was....cold, with a side of Mosquito bites.
How about you? What places/baristas do you like? Provide links if possible, but let's keep it work safe. Any suggestions in the Kent/Auburn/Fed Way area?
For the most part Cowgirls seems to have gone downhill. Anyone like the Baristas chain?
One "peeve" of mine is if they cal me "hon" or something else like that. I come for coffee and scenery, not condescension
