That's absurd. Certainly there is a right to basic medical care when in custody, but I doubt she could have afforded sex change surgery on the outside, nor is it critical to survival.

I read about this online, and I do not understand how this is can be ordered by a judge, and how it is medical necessity.
On a separate note, I did read a totally different story on another site about a transgender person who needed a vagina and it is only $20,000. for a brand spanking new vagina, he/she set up a gofundme account because the insurance only covered 12k or the 20k. Why can't this person not just do the same instead of making the humble tax payers of California pay for the surgery. |
