JBLM range 15 http://www.jblmmwr.com/pdf/nw_adv/shoot ... 20info.pdf

I think anyone can shoot, but hours are limited.

Public isn't allowed anymore. You have to be escorted in, and register your firearms with the Provost.

Pity, I'd would have liked to visit that range just to see it/shoot on it once. A friend of ours works there (Army Surgeon) but he loathes guns and the very idea of civilians owning weapons so I doubt he'd escort me in. I have no idea how he survived his tour in Iraq with that attitude intact but I guess it really is hard to change some people's mind.

Well, you can see it. You just have to drive from the "East Gate" entrance of the post. The secured part of the military installation (JBLM) is another 1/2 mile in.

You can't shoot as in public (civilian). You can check it out.

You need several things before you can really shoot there.
1) Register all your firearms you plan on bringing onto "post" (this is done before you go shooting) with the Provost Marshall
This means you need to fill out the forms. Go to the Provost Marshall. You have to have car insurance, car registration and ID and this is to just get your firearms registered (do not bring your firearms)
2) A Sponsor (someone in the military to sign you in)

So, if you really want you "can" shoot on Range 15 but you'll need both of the above to do it.

*Please remember even though Range 15 is not on the "secure" gated portion of the base... it still is a Federal Military Installation.
Means... your CPL doesn't count. No firearms in your car.

Also if you look on the map... https://www.google.com/maps/@47.0499511 ... a=!3m1!1e3
47.050005, -122.555118

Range 15 has like 4-5 miles of back stop. How many places do you know that has that much land (where it's basically a NO MAN's land area)?

*Lastly do not drive to the secure gate. There is no reason to even enter JBLM. Once you get the gate guards and MP's and everyone else into your business... there is no turning back.
