Not much info at that link there, but sad news. that club had been there since the '30s, and people are complaining there's a gun range in their neighborhood. Been there 80 years people.

There is a little more on the site..
http://gunsafety.org/kitsap-county-comm ... community/

The Kitsap County Commissioners have scheduled a motion hearing to shut down Kitsap Rifle & Revolver Club claiming that we have been an “actual and substantial injury” to the community. The hearing if to be held before Judge Roof on Tuesday, April 14 at 0900, at the Kitsap County Court House. Pass the word and be there!

An actual and substantial INJURY to the COMMUNITY? You mean all those houses that you ALLOWED to be developed AROUND a gun range?

Some other posts I've seen say developers are pushing it, so they can shut it down and turn the area into a Central Park type area...

Can you imagine the lead abatement that would be required to turn that into ANYTHING?

Well they managed to close the Camp Wesley Harris 600 yd range a few years ago due to the houses in the area that were built AFTER the range had been there many years.

Spanaway Speedway, Tri-Cities Raceway...noise pollution

KRRC, Wesley Harris..."safety"

......all because of things that moved in AFTER they did. Houses. Full of sheep. Sucking at the tweets of people who see dollar signs by getting prime real estate for pennies on the dollar.

Heck, look at Ruston. The old ASARCO Superfund site. Million dollar condos?

'Murica. Great.

I got an idea.

Buy a bunch of surplus D-8 Cats at the Richie Bros. auctions.

Hire a bunch of meth heads to pilot them through every home in the area within a mile of the range.

Problem solved.

 fixed it for ya.

And on the subject of this thread, weren't there a bunch of people bitching about the noise from naval air station whidbey island?....houses built much much later than the damn base, or bitching about the helicopters from jblm flying around..

I'm guessing this is the same reason that places like ESC moved farther south. We have a huge development idea being floated just down the road from us, 1000 houses crammed into a small space right next to the BNSF tracks. I'm sure the people there will be bitching about the noise the trains make too.

You don't want to hear gunfire, or helicopters, or the boom booms of artillery from Ft. Lewis then don't move there. God people are stupid. Unfortunately there are enough people out there that know how to take advantage of stupid for their own benefit. Even if the range gets moved I will be willing to bet dollars to donuts that no park will be built. I am willing to bet that someone will build a lot of houses there though.

About 6 years ago, I was scouting out an area of county land for bear, and came across a county car driving in an area closed to vehicles. In talking with the driver, he was an appraiser for the county, looking over the land with the county idea of a trade with KRRR. The parcel I was on was about 4 miles from KRRR. Driver stated they were going to make a multiple use park, one way or another. I advised an atty friend who was a member of KRRR, who said they knew about the BS.

Lets remind them what happened to Russ Hague after he went after the KRRC.

I want to think that in civil court, if someone brings three petitions for a protection order against a person, and all three are denied, they can charge the whiner with harassment.
You'd think that if the government keeps coming after KRRC, they should have the right to not only recover defense fees, but also get a few 'get out of trouble free' cards.

This seems like an unjust use of taxpayer money. Shouldn't they be working on roads, helping the needy, trying to encourage new businesses, etc.?
