What others have echoed though, carrying a knife when physically injured like you are is a good way to get fucked up. I've had first hand experience with the same problem, I would NOT want to be using a knife to defend myself, because within the first three thrusts/strokes of the blade, you are sure to twist yourself the wrong way and just fall over in agony. Seriously, at this point, switch to a shoulder holster or get a proper pocket gun and carry it owb. If you think .32 is too anemic, get a little LCP or P3AT.

Sigh.. I know.. And as my original post said, a pocket/micro carry is in my future, but it's not my future this week, or next, probably not the week after that either.

My work attire won't support a shoulder holster either (I know, I kind of run the place, but it doesn't).

I can't really add any additional weight to my midline. Even lifting 5lbs is pushing it, depending on how I lift it. I don't want to wear, support or carry anything that can compromise my ability to heal. I have throw out my back before, but this time it's pretty bad.

I am no doctor, but the ones who have looked at this have winced and whistled, then said "ouch"..

Suuuuck.

Well as much as a lot of people knock 'em I really do not think you can go wrong with the P32 and a ten round extended mag. As Ben, he likes the damned things as much as I do, and you know I'm not shy about carrying more or less literal hand cannons either.

Kit out a Wa Guns baseball cap kinda like those double beer can drinking rigs, only with Bladetech holsters on either side of your head.

Not only will you double your firepower, you will be able to do Hollywood dual wielding, and look like one of those imperial walkers from Star Wars if you cant the barrels forwards.

Triple win.

Stun cane?

Too tempting to test on my kids...

The cane I have now is a GREAT standoff device. She'll dent your skull in if you give me a clear shot.

Here are a few other alternatives you could use instead of a knife.

The KelTec 3AT (or Ruger LCP) is all of about 14 oz loaded.
You can get a pocket clip for them, and carry like a folding knife. They are practically invisible.
If that's not an option, go to pepper spray and then hobble like hell!
